School of Choral Studies Audition
If you are interested in attending the School of Choral Studies, you must audition successfully to become a member or alternate. Because the audition experience is so worthwhile, you are encouraged to register and to participate. For the convenience of you and your parents, auditions will be held at 10 different locations around the state.
For your audition, you'll be asked to perform a prepared vocal selection to demonstrate your technical and musical abilities. (A folk song, art song, or standard vocal literature is preferred.) You must supply your own accompaniment. Sight-reading of standard vocal literature will be included as part of your audition.
Ratings by the adjudicators will form the basis for selection. To participate in this statewide audition process, complete and return the application form as soon as possible to aid in scheduling. Upon receipt of this form, complete information about the audition locations, schedules, and times will be mailed to you.
