SCS Late Applicant Procedures
After the initial auditions for the NYSSSA School of Choral Studies have been completed, we accept late applicants.
Pick a solo selection or selections that best show(s) your capabilities. The solo should be at least two minutes in length and no more than ten minutes. Sight-reading is one of the evaluation criteria. Please send a copy of your most current NYSSMA (or County) Solo Evaluation Sheet OR ask your teacher to provide a written numerical estimate of your sight-reading ability, along with your application and recorded solo performance.
Tapes or CD’s should be clearly marked with your name and voice part, and should list your musical selections by title. You must also complete and submit an SCS Application Form.The tape/CD and written materials should be returned to our office as soon as possible so that an appropriate adjudicator may audition it.
