Marisa f. Ballaro

Faculty Concert Choreographer / Dance Conditioning Teacher

A summa cum laude graduate of SUNY College at Brockport, Marisa f. Ballaro is an arts educator, choreographer, performer, and certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM.) While on faculty at NYSSSA in August 2011, she designed and implemented a dance conditioning program. Of which, she promoted the program and its research at the NYS Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance Conference in January 2012. Marisa is on the design, management, and engagement teams for American Dance Legacy Initiative (ADLI), and is a member of ADLI’s teaching and performing ensemble, Dancing Legacy. Currently, she is working with ADLI to generate new Repertory Etudes™ as part of the current campaign. She has staged her repertory at Bak Middle School of the Arts (FL), NYSSSA (NY), Nova Dance Company (DE), and has led residencies at Alfred University, Brown University, Carthage College, Montclair State University, and performing arts high schools and dance festivals across the country. Marisa is excited to begin her ?rst year on the dance faculty at The Brearley School in Manhattan this fall. She is on the Junior Committee for Dance/NYC, a lector at Saint Francis De Sales Church, and on the board of directors for the Brockport Alumni Association.  She is currently pursuing certi?cation as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist with NASM.
