2023 Scholarship Applications Now Closed
Following the successful launch of the Arts Scholarship Program in the summer of 2022, NYSED's Office of Cultural Education will again offer a total of $168,000 in scholarship opportunities for high school students to attend other regional summer arts programs for summer 2023. Students can apply for a scholarship April 1 through May 1.
The goal of the scholarship program is to promote access and equity to arts education by providing need-based grants to low-income students pursuing summer opportunities.
To be eligible to apply, students must currently be in 6th – 12th grade, live in New York State, and select a New York State-based summer arts program including music, theatre, dance, creative writing, fine arts, design, and more. It is recommended that students confirm they have been accepted into a program prior to applying for a scholarship. Individual grants will range from $250 - $5,000 depending on financial need; grant amounts will pay up to 90 percent of the program cost. If more applications are received than available funding, scholarships will be awarded based on the most financial need.
