1. Why NYSSSA? (why audition, why did you decide to attend?)
I auditioned for NYSSSA mainly because I wanted to improve my acting skills.

2. How did you find out about NYSSSA?

My friend who went previously recommended it to me, saying that it was life-changing, though I didn't believe it at first.

3. Typical Day/Schedule at NYSSSA?
My day started with moement class in the morning, which really wakes you up. After that was voice class which included breathing exercises and stretches that help in ways you didn't even know you needed. Then after lunch, there's an improv class and acting class where you learn and apply advanced techniques. After that, you have some down time to relax before your evening event which can range from workshops with special guests to exclusive stage readings of new works. Later in the month, this time in spent for rehearsing for the final performance. Finally, you head to bed and get ready to do it all again the next day.

4. Best Moment at NYSSSA?
My best moment had to be the time I rehearsed my scene in the bathroom. All jokes aside, the atmosphere got me and my scene partner really into the setting of the scene (a prison in the 1500's) and was the first time I really understood the power of the material I had been taught. Also, it's a really cool story.

5. Why would you encourage someone to audition for NYSSSA?
Despite my initial idea that NYSSSA was just for impriving you skills, it is so much more. Going to NSYSSA made me more vulnerable and helped me to be in tune with my emotions. I made so many new friends and cried when it was over. NYSSSA was truly life changing, and it opened me up to be willing to fail and learn from it as well as step out of my comfort zone.
