School of Choral Studies Syracuse Area Auditions

Syracuse Area Auditions will be held on Feburary 1, 2020 at Onondaga Community College (OCMEA Site). 

ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE Friday January 31st at 9am.  Applications submitted after this deadline will not be received by the NYSSSA Office.  Walk-in applicants should register at the audition site Saturday at 10am.  

Pre-assigned audition times will be scheduled by the regional site chairperson.  Notification of your audition time will come to you via email or telephone.  If you have not received an audition time 5 days in advance of your audition site date, please contact the NYSSSA office at (518) 474-8773 or by email at nysssa@nysed.gov for assistance.

Students auditioning for the School of Choral Studies, whether recorded or live, must prepare a solo of your choice in addition to the required selection (found at the link below) and two scales: one major scale (ascending and descending) in the key of your choice and one melodic minor scale (ascending and descending) in the key of your choice. Vocalists auditioning live must make their own arrangements for piano accompaniment.  A piano will be available for your accompanist.  If pre-recorded accompaniment is to be used, you must provide your own playback system.  Students are strongly advised to provide a copy of their solo for use by the adjudicator during live auditions.
